Like a lot of other metal drummers out there, Vinnie seems to sound very "Meat & Potatos".

You are right, Vinnie is putting on his "Hard Rock Hat".

Still glad he did it though, now I think he has DONE IT ALL.

I agree with Randy. These tunes border on metal-cheese IMO but I don't see how anyone else would've done better.

I also wonder how much he could "get away" with anyway in that situation.

It's not his style to be a pounding speed metal guy anyway of course, but this sounds heavy while still maintaining his personality.

I've been listening to it for the last two days and have really enjoyed it....I don't listen to much (new) metal/hard rock so this was a refreshing change. I thought Vinnie played great for the music, and his drum sound is perfect.

i am not a huge metal fan but i like what i am hearing and Vinnie sounds great. all my opinion

I think someone mentioned Vin's touring with Megadeth? That will be interesting. Would be cool to hear VC cookin' on some old metal tunes too. I have to admit that I really enjoyed Rust in Peace. Really haven't heard much metal in a while. Refreshing (oddly enough).

Don't know if a nearing-50 VC could stand night aft night touring w a loud metal outfit...his ears, i mean...of course, w the IEMs & his own mix, he could [hopefully] control the sound & protect his hearing ATST...

Yeah both Mustaine and Colaiuta are Christian Believers. I'm sure that had something to do with Dave hireing Vinnie!
